Life feel out of control? Go slow.
It's in the slow we're most connected to our higher selves and better able to discern our next best move. Plus, quote from Melody Beattie, prompt, and affirmation!
The hardest thing to do when life feels out of control is to go slow.
Whether we lose a job or a loved one or feel "off,” it can be tempting to overcompensate with action or racing thoughts.
We might make calls, send emails, spiral into catastrophic thoughts, or do anything else to stay busy.
It makes us feel in control.
In reality, we have almost zero control over what happens in life.
The only thing we control is how we travel our life's journey.
We can do so with calm and peace or chaos and anxiety.
Some of our time's greatest leaders and entrepreneurs made their best decisions after stepping away from a tense situation to meditate or walk themselves into a calm and peaceful state.
It's in the slow we're most connected to our higher selves and better able to discern our next best move.
Right now, I'm experiencing some significant shifts, and it's uncomfortable.
I'm lucky to have multiple friends with enough wisdom to tell me to savor this moment.
To let myself figure out what I want to do instead of doing something because it feels comfortable.
To reconnect with my inner voice.
The instant gratification monkey inside me wants me to figure out the next steps.
To let my anxiety run the show.
But this is how I've always responded, and it hasn't helped me in the past.
So, it's an opportunity to change a pattern.
To do this, we must notice the moment when we're reacting the same way we always have (pattern).
Then, choosing the new reaction we want to take instead (rewiring a new pattern).
And to keep redirecting our attention to that new way until it becomes our new nature.
Doing the work is unsexy and painful, but we'll be so glad we did once we break through to the other side.
You got this!

Move up the ladder to higher vibrations by writing at the top of a blank page:
What pattern do I want to change?
and see what flows from your pen. No judgment or editing.
