This month, we discussed the power of thoughts and beliefs in manifesting.
But one more component brings it all together: our emotions.
Emotions are the rocket fuel that decides how slowly or quickly our manifestations happen.
In my life, I notice a massive difference between when my emotions support what I want and when they don't.
They reveal the beliefs that block thoughts from becoming reality.
Emotions can be our best asset if we become a safe space for them to exist.
We can start small
A safe space involves allowing, experiencing, reflecting, unconditionally loving, and accepting what surfaces.
As always, we can start small.
For example, I got a pedicure recently and caught a limiting belief when picking my color.
A light blue made me feel a spark inside.
But then I thought, “This isn’t a sophisticated color,” and almost picked up a white shade instead.
Then I stopped and asked, "What belief makes me feel bad for picking the blue?"
The belief that you can’t be sophisticated or elegant outside of specific colors.
Living in New York City for six years certainly influenced that.
Is that a belief or rule I want to follow?
Hell no.
So I picked up the blue bottle, and that’s the color I’m wearing now.
It was a small way to listen to my creative spirit rather than a rule I had accepted.
If I can’t listen to and follow what nail polish color excites me, how could I do so for anything more significant?
It’s a small victory but a victory all the same.
Follow our North star
Emotions are the north star of our beliefs and thoughts.
They’re the only way we know where our beliefs and thoughts lie.
So, rather than villainizing the painful ones and idolizing the good-feeling ones, allowing them all to exist is most helpful.
They create the colorful landscape of our lives.
Giving space to my more challenging emotions is something I’m working on.
But it’s improved over the years, especially this year, as I’ve been healing my self-concept.
I’m noticing that as I do, it’s dismantling the internalized shame I’ve felt since childhood.
Even if an emotion doesn’t feel good at the moment, it loses power eventually.
When we start allowing all emotions, we can better notice and name our beliefs, which affect our thoughts and lives.
